What's Included in these plans?

  • Each plan set is drawn at 1/4" = 1' scale and includes the following drawings:
  • Artist Rendering: An artist's drawing of the home, usually viewed from the front and general construction notes.
  • Elevations: Shows the front, sides, and rear, including exterior materials, trim sizes, roof pitches, etc.
  • Main Floor Plan: Shows placement and dimensions of walls, doors & windows. Includes the location of appliances, plumbing fixtures, beams, ceiling heights, etc.
  • Second Floor Plan (if any) Shows the second floor in the same detail as the main floor. Includes second floor framing and details.
  • Foundation Plan: Shows the location of all concrete footings, floor beams, first floor framing, and foundation details. If there is a basement, a basement plan is included which shows all basement details.
  • Roof Framing: Shows roof outlines, conventional framing/trusses, beams, roof framing details, etc. Details specific details such as fireplaces, stairways, decks, etc. Details are drawn at 1/2" = 1' scale and appear as needed throughout the prints.
  • Section: Shows a cross-section of the home. Shows support members, exterior and interior materials, insulation, and foundation.
  • Electrical Plan: A schematic layout of all lighting, switches and electrical outlets.
  • *Wall framing and foundation options vary please call or email to confirm framing or foundation options of the plan you are interested in.

About This Plan

This Log Cabin plan is indicative of the American spirit at a time in our country’s history where the romance of home ownership was enthusiastically embraced out of necessity. Form and function is highlighted in the home where natural design elements are creatively used resulting in timeless character and charm. This organic home structure boasts of rough hewn timber logs, simple rooflines and glass window inserts which blend effectively into the background, yet, transport the outdoors into the home’s interior. The interior floor plan features approximately 960 square feet of living space comprised of one bedroom and one bathroom while the 32’ width and 41’ depth dimensions are perfectly suited for a small and/or narrow lot. Flexible floor space conveys a sense of spaciousness and allows for optimal furniture placement allowing for good flow and entertaining space. The front covered porch advances into the open concept living spaces which include a vaulted great room measuring in excess of 16’x30’ feet. Wonderful window views outline the side wall of the home and continue into the dining space and kitchen. The kitchen boasts of a center island cook top, double sink window views and an abundance of additional counter and cabinet space. There is a storage closet and laundry nook lining the center hallway and rear access to the screened porch. The screened in porch allows for three season outdoor living and is flanked by double sided decking.
The main bedroom is spacious with vaulted ceilings and generous closet space. An adjacent study is perfect for reading, relaxing and/or could function as a private space to work. The bathroom features a sink and toilet area along with an oversized shower. This rustic Cabin is a perfect house design for young professionals, empty nesters or a vacation home with its efficient layout and historically constructed exterior façade.
