What's Included in these plans?

  • Cover Sheet
    Showing architectural rendering of residence.
  • Floor Plan(s)
In general, each house plan set includes floor plans at 1/4" scale with a door and window schedule. Floor plans are typically drawn with 4" exterior walls. However, details/sections for both 2"x4" and 2"x6" wall framing may also be included as part of the plans, or purchased separately.
  • Foundation Plan and Details
Each house plan set includes one foundation type.
Additional foundation types may be available for a given house plan, and these options can be viewed on each plan's detail page.
  • Foundation types typically offered: (each type may or may not be available for a given design)
-Slab: Most of our plans reflect a "raised slab" which consists of a chainwall perimeter filled with compacted fill and a reinforced slab poured on top. No accessible space exists underneath slab construction.
-Crawlspace: Crawlspace is a type of foundation which includes an accessible space with limited headroom, typically between the soil and the bottom of the first floor of a home. Crawlspace construction is predominant in areas where there is heavy clay content in the soil, where the home owner needs additional under-home storage space, or the homeowner needs access to pipes, wiring, etc. under the floor of the home.
-Basement: Basement is a type of foundation which includes an accessible space between the soil and the bottom of the first floor of a home. It usually has more headroom than a Crawlspace. Basement foundation construction is predominant in cold climates where the foundation needs to be situated below the frost level.

About This Plan

This cozy Cottage house design provides an oasis from everyday living and a place to escape modern life and completely relax and unwind. The home could be used as an upscale hunting and fishing cottage or conversely, as a home to develop solitary contemplation for writing, drawing or recharging your batteries. The attractive façade is comprised of horizontal siding, a sliding roofline that cascades and covers the porch on the front exterior while simultaneously protecting the screened porch on the rear exterior. The front covered porch also boasts of open railing, columned beams and is a lovely spot for relaxing and/or greeting family and friends. There are approximately 400 square feet of usable living space that contains one bedroom and one bath with the added bonus of 20’ width and 32’ depth dimensions, perfect for a small and/or narrow lot whether situated deep in the woods, overlooking a tranquil lake or atop a mountain property lot. The front covered porch and rear screened porch are mirror sized; both measure 20’x6’ and feature good relaxing space and the rear porch could be used as additional sleeping quarters during nice weather.
The front porch grants access into the home’s interior where an open floor plan is revealed; there is a large living room and spacious rear positioned kitchen. The kitchen is highlighted with a peninsula bar, perfect for casual dining and there is a separate pantry, plenty of counter and cabinet space and room for a stackable washer and dryer. The bunk room measures in excess of 7’x13’ and could hold a combination of sleeping arrangements; a futon, bunk beds, a single bed or various configurations of all. To the rear of the bedroom is a full bath with vanity space, a toilet area and a tub/shower combination. This is a small home with large potential to be utilized as any number of different housing options including a vacation home, a hunting/fishing cottage or an artist’s studio.
