About This Plan

This approximate 1,501 square foot Cottage house plan would make an outstanding choice as a vacation or “forever” home. Situated on a tranquil lakefront or mountain top, this home would showcase excellent outdoor space and floor to ceiling windows designed for panoramic window views. The exterior façade includes horizontal siding, a triangular exterior stone chimney juxtaposed between a multitude of window inserts and a huge open deck. Three bedrooms, two baths and wide open common rooms highlight the interior along with an unfinished basement foundation that exactly mirrors the main level square footage. The home’s front entrance features an extended covered porch and spacious interior foyer which dramatically sets the tone for the remainder of the interior. A stone wall feature is highlighted on the rear kitchen wall and passage is allowed on either side into the kitchen where there are flanking dining and living spaces. The grand kitchen is highlighted with a wraparound bar that houses a cook top, double sinks, loads of work and prep space while the rear wall houses a separate pantry and modern amenities. The living and dining rooms veer out from the kitchen and feature soaring ceiling heights, an optional fireplace and on-point spacious rooms for maximizing the views and furniture placement. There is French door access onto the V-shaped open deck from both sides of the room; this enormous deck is continued entertaining and relaxing space and perfectly reflects the concept of bringing the outdoors in whether through the expansive window views or open doorways. Two family bedrooms are situated on one side of the home’s geometrical floor plan; each bedroom is spacious with plentiful closet space and a shared hall bath offers a vanity space, a toilet area and a tub/shower combination. The side hallway features passage to the optional 336 square foot garage for convenience. The master suite’s location provides privacy and French door access into the bedroom. There is an attached master walk-in closet and the en suite bath is highlighted with a large vanity, a separate shower and a soaking tub. This home features a unique and functional floor plan and an exterior designed for entertaining and relaxing with large groups of family and friends.
