About This Plan

This attractive Cottage house plan is ideal for weekend getaways no matter the outdoor activity and lifestyle being sought. Straightforward exterior construction includes a simple, gabled roofline, a pier foundation and a step-up front porch. A first version will include an uninsulated and unheated version for seasonal use only (3 seasons). The walls are 2 '' x 4 '', the floor joists are 2 '' x 8 '' and the rafters are 2 '' x 8 '' for the roof.  The second version is an isolated and heated version for permanent occupation (4 seasons). For this one the walls are 2 '' x 6 '', the floor joists are 2 '' x 10 '' and the roof is designed with roof trusses. The front porch spans the width of the cottage and there are decorative brackets overhead along with double window views outlining the exterior façade. Whether hunting, fishing or any other numerous outdoor activities are enjoyed, this small home provides plenty of space for like-minded “buddies” or girlfriends to get away for a long weekend. Alternatively, the home could also function as a young couple’s weekend get-away or a space for solitary contemplation and writing. The interior floor plan features 320 square feet of usable living space which incorporates one bedroom and one bath into the space and the home’s renderings feature a 16’ width and 20’ depth, perfect for a small and/or narrow lot. Walking into the home off the front porch, a spacious open layout is revealed which contains a large living room with a wood burning stove and a double set of window views. The casual dining space anchors the living room and kitchen where there is plentiful counter and cabinet space. Beyond the main living areas are the bedroom and bath; the bath features a vanity space, toilet area and a shower. The bedroom is equipped with enough space to incorporate bunk beds, a futon and/or single or double beds or any combination thereof. This small house plan, while compact, features generous interior and exterior space to enjoy a lake/beachside or mountain property lot location where offshore fishing, hunting in the woods or relaxing and enjoying the ocean tides, bird watching and star gazing can all be savored by the homeowner and his/her guests.
