Is it better to build or buy a house?

Can I design my house plan or floor plan?

Designing a custom home can be done and will require you to work closely with a home designer or architect. This option can run up to $10,000+, whereas purchasing a stock house plan is considerably cheaper. If you buy a stock house plan, you can customize the plans to meet your needs. Purchasing stock plans may require an additional architectural stamp to ensure they meet your local building codes before you begin building; however, this is still a cheaper option than designing a custom home.
